Cargo Plane Crash Kills 5, Shock Possible Clancy Copycat, Trump Floats "New America": AM Update 9/8

NTSB investigators recovered the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the crashed Amazon cargo plane.

The flight arrived from San Juan with two crew members, overran runway 30, struck a cleaning company van and a Toyota Corolla Cross, and traveled about 1,300 feet past the paved surface.

Some aviation experts note strong winds and a possible tailwind may be contributing factors behind the plane floating farther down the runway. Miami's airport does not have a runway arresting system designed to stop an aircraft that travels past a runway or experiences brake failure.

Corey Walsh allegedly killed her two-year-old son hours after discussing the Lindsay Clancy case in a group text message. Walsh's lawyer claims she was going through a psychotic episode before killing her son.

The fact that Walsh was texting about the Clancy case hours before the killing will be the first and last thing prosecutors emphasize to the jury.

Patrick Havis was in police custody after lunging at Dr. Amy Acton while carrying two concealed firearms and brass knuckles, though he never brandished the guns.

She refuses to look the other way while bad actors and special interests take Ohio backwards and is thankful to first responders.

Political violence has no place in America, period, full stop, regardless of party or partisan beliefs.

President Trump shared images suggesting a new name for New Mexico, dubbing it "New America."

New Mexico's name is not up for debate, and the president is trying to distract Americans from his disastrous war in Iran and soaring gas prices.

He will always call the Gulf of Mexico, Lake Ontario, and New Mexico by their actual names.

Changing a state's legal name requires action beyond a presidential order, likely involving the state legislature and its constitution.
