THE HERD - HOUR 2 - Lane Kiffin's Halftime Comments

Kiffin's halftime remark was unnecessary and predictable given his history of self-sabotage.

The comment reflects his personality and his job is to do what he believes is right for the players, not to please critics.

Kiffin has burned bridges at every major program he has coached and will eventually burn LSU too.

Kiffin is blatantly dishonest but openly so, which is almost respected because it is honest about its own dishonesty.

Off-season scandals and media scrutiny will intensify if the Patriots struggle, and the team benefited from a soft schedule last year.

TCU's initial revocation of the Star Telegram's credentials for reporting a serious locker room injury was ridiculous and undermines real reporting.

Goodell's extension is unsurprising given the NFL's massive financial growth under his leadership, despite early missteps.

Scheduling weaker opponents in week one makes sense because college teams lack a preseason and need a ramp-up period.

The Hall of Fame's voting changes were likely prompted by the initial failure to elect Bill Belichick, whose credentials were unquestionably worthy.
